+++ made it to the border of Mexico +++
After I’ve spent 5 nights in San Diego I felt it was time to move again and finally cross the border to Mexico.
It was already late when I left the hostel yesterday. After two hours of cycling it got dark and I was somewhere in no man’s land between San Diego and Tecate where I planned to cross the border the next day. About 10km before the border I pitched my tent next to a side road. Wind was already blowing very heavily at that point and I was not up for pedaling against it as it was also going uphill and there was still a lot of traffic on the narrow winding road.
The next morning I got up around 7am and was back on the road an hour later. The wind had even increased overnight and I some blasts nearly blew me off the bike. Today’s soundtrack for the ride will be: “Ride like the wind” from Christopher Cross. After roughly one hour I arrived at the border and after another 30 minutes I pushed my bike through the gate to Mexico. The next target for today will be Ensenada.
